Support workers for learning disability and autism services, and carers and nurses for older people's homes, from Wolverhampton to Coventry.

Who we send

Support workers experienced in autism and behaviour that challenges, care assistants, senior carers and nurses.

How quickly

Same day for an urgent shift if someone who knows your kind of service is free. One week to set up a regular team.

How to book

Tell us the home, the shift and what the residents need. Form or phone.

Who we place in West Midlands homes

Support workers

For small homes supporting adults with learning disabilities and autism, including positive behaviour support.

Care assistants

Days and waking nights in older people's residential and dementia homes.

Senior carers

To lead the shift and handle medication where your policy allows.

Registered nurses

RGNs for nursing homes and RMNs for mental health services.

Where we work

Birmingham and Solihull, the four Black Country boroughs of Wolverhampton, Walsall, Dudley and Sandwell, and Coventry to the east.

A large part of the work here is not older people's care at all. Many homes in the county are small services for younger adults with learning disabilities, autism or mental health needs, often an ordinary house on an ordinary street with a handful of residents. They need a different person from a large nursing home in Solihull, and we book them differently.

For those services we keep a short list of support workers for each home, so residents see people they know and staff already know the routines and the support plans.

How it works

  1. 1

    Tell us about the service

The shift, the residents' needs, any support plan the person should read and preferences such as a female worker for personal care.

  2. 2

We choose from your short list

We offer the shift first to staff who have worked with you before, then to others with the right experience, and send their files.

  3. 3

    The same faces return

For runs of shifts we keep the same people on your rota, because for many residents consistency is part of their care.

Urgent shifts
Same day, when someone with the right experience is free and within reach of the home.
Regular teams and block bookings
One week to choose, check and introduce the people who will cover your rota.

What comes with every placement

Care homes in England are inspected by the Care Quality Commission. The file we send covers what an inspector expects to see for agency staff.

  • Enhanced DBS with the adults' barred list check, seen before anyone is booked.

  • Right to work checked against original documents or the Home Office online service.

  • References two, one from the most recent care employer.

  • Training moving and handling, safeguarding, infection prevention and basic life support, with certificates in the file you receive.

  • Nurses live NMC registration checked on the register before each placement.

Small providers in the Black Country

Many homes in Sandwell, Dudley, Walsall and Wolverhampton are run by small, independent providers who have never used an agency, or used one and were let down. You can start with a single shift, see who turns up and how they work, and decide from there.
