Care home staffing South West Wales
Care home cover for Swansea, Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire
Care workers, seniors and nurses for adult care homes from Neath and Swansea west to Haverfordwest and north to Aberystwyth.
Who we send
Care workers, senior care workers, nurses, and Welsh speaking staff where we have them.
How quickly
Same day in Swansea Bay when someone suitable is free. Further west, a week's notice gives us time to find a driver.
How to book
Phone or use the form with the home, the shifts and any need for Welsh.
Who you can book in South West Wales
Care workers
Older people's residential and dementia care, registered with Social Care Wales.
Senior care workers
To run a shift in homes where the senior is in charge overnight.
Registered nurses
For nursing homes in Swansea and the larger towns.
Welsh speaking staff
Matched to homes where residents use Welsh day to day, where we have them.
Where we cover
Swansea and Neath Port Talbot, Carmarthenshire, Pembrokeshire and Ceredigion. Many homes here are in market towns and villages, a long way from the next home and from the people who could cover a shift there.
Welsh is spoken widely in Carmarthenshire and Ceredigion, and many residents prefer to receive care in Welsh. Homes in Wales are expected to make an active offer of Welsh, and we take that into account when we put names forward.
Most homes outside Swansea and Llanelli need staff with a car, so we confirm transport before we offer the shift.

How it works
- 1
Tell us the shifts
The home, the dates, whether Welsh is needed, and whether the home is on a bus route.
- 2
We check for Wales
Social Care Wales registration, DBS and training are checked and sent to you before the shift.
- 3
Group the gaps
Three nights in a row are easier to fill in Pembrokeshire than three single nights spread over a fortnight.
- Urgent shifts
- Same day, mostly in Swansea Bay, when a registered care worker is free and close enough.
- Block bookings
- One week to book drivers and regular people for rural homes.
What we check for Welsh homes
Care Inspectorate Wales inspects care homes here. Care workers must also meet the Social Care Wales registration rules.
Social Care Wales registration status checked for care workers going into adult care homes. New workers have six months from starting to register, and we tell you where anyone is within that window.
Enhanced DBS with the adults' barred list check.
Right to work and references two references, one from the last care employer.
Training mandatory training certificates on file, with progress against the All Wales Induction Framework for newer workers.
Nurses live NMC registration checked before every placement.
Swansea Bay
Homes in Swansea and Neath Port Talbot sit close together and are well connected, so staff here can usually reach several of them. That makes short notice cover more realistic than in the west. If you are in Swansea Bay and need someone tonight, call us.
