Flamingo Workforce

Job description:

We’re recruiting a Team Leader for a residential home near Malvern that supports adults with learning disabilities, autism and complex needs, including behaviours that may challenge. It’s a settled, well-run service, and this is a genuine leadership role: you’ll run shifts, not just work them.

Flamingo Workforce is handling this hire on behalf of the care provider. It’s a permanent position, employed directly by them from day one.

What the job actually involves

You’ll take charge of the shift and make sure the home runs to standard: allocating the team, keeping documentation right, and being the person staff turn to when something needs a decision. Day to day you’ll be:

  • Leading shifts in line with CQC standards and care legislation
  • Writing and updating person-centred care plans
  • Administering medication and keeping records accurate
  • Inducting, mentoring and supervising support workers
  • Getting stuck in alongside the team — activities, days out, mealtimes (there’s a free cooked meal on shift), and personal care when it’s needed
  • Taking part in the on-call rota

This is hands-on leadership in a small home, not an office job. If you’re a Senior Support Worker ready to step up, or an experienced Team Leader wanting a service where you can actually know every resident, this will suit you.

What you’ll need

  • NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Health and Social Care (essential)
  • A full UK driving licence (essential)
  • Solid working knowledge of learning disabilities, and of MCA and DoLS
  • Experience supporting adults with complex needs or behaviours that challenge
  • Good written records; numeracy, literacy and basic computer skills
  • To live within 20 miles of Malvern, because of the on-call commitment (essential)
  • Willingness to work 8am–8pm shifts, including alternate weekends

Please note: the employer is not currently accepting applications from candidates who require visa sponsorship or supplementary employment.

Pay and benefits

  • From £13.70 per hour, 36 hours a week
  • Free meal on shift
  • Blue Light Card — discounts on shopping, travel and entertainment
  • £300 employee referral bonus
  • CQC inspection bonus: £125 for a ‘Good’ rating, £250 for ‘Outstanding’
  • Long-service rewards from £100 at 5 years up to £1,000 at 20
  • Confidential 24/7 support line
  • A proper induction: face-to-face training, online modules, shadowing and a local induction period, with real development after that
