Flamingo Workforce
The person you support should get the final say on how their day goes. Good support workers know that, and it is the thread running through every role we fill in Exeter: helping someone live as independently as they can, with dignity and with choices that are genuinely theirs.
Settling into a permanent post
This listing carries a salary of £23,000 to £28,000 a year, so it is aimed at people who want something lasting. Permanent positions are available, and if you would like to test the water first, block bookings and ad hoc shifts are too. Waking nights and sleep ins can be part of the arrangement.
Where you could work
We supply support workers to care providers, supported living and residential services, mental health teams, local authorities and community settings around Devon. The work spans learning disability and autism, mental health, complex care, community outreach, domiciliary support and young people’s services. People join us from Exeter, Torbay, Plymouth and as far as Taunton, and we match roles to postcode and travel time.
Your part
Personal care and practical support. Encouraging confidence and involvement in everyday activities. Backing positive behaviour and looking after emotional wellbeing. Medication if you are trained and it is required. Records kept accurate, on time and private. Safeguarding, always.
Our part
We ask that you come with relevant care experience and training, including the Care Certificate where applicable, the right to work in the UK, an enhanced DBS (we will help you obtain it), in date mandatory training, occupational health clearance and recent references. In return, a consultant who knows the area works with you, pay arrives weekly, and we sort your compliance, from DBS to right to work. A Level 2 or 3 Diploma, PBS, MAPA or PMVA training and a full UK driving licence are welcome but not required.
