Ready to lead shifts in a small home?
A small children’s home just outside Gainsborough needs a Senior Residential Support Worker to steady the team on shift. Two young boys live there and a third placement is planned. The post is permanent and you are employed directly by the home, at £16 an hour plus £60 for every sleep in, on a minimum of 37.5 hours a week with overtime available. Flamingo Workforce is recruiting on the home’s behalf.
Where the senior part comes in
You still do the core residential work, trauma informed care, daily routines, careful records and safeguarding, but you carry more of it. You support newer colleagues through a shift, take the lead on care plans and documentation, and you are the calm person in the room when behaviour becomes challenging. The home expects residential childcare experience at this level and will look for it at interview.
Blocks and sleep ins
The rota runs in blocks. Day one is 10am to 11pm with a sleep in, day two is 7:30am to 11pm with another, and you finish at 10am on day three before your time off. With the sleep in payments added, a full rota can comfortably clear £35,000 a year.
What the home needs from you
Solid residential childcare experience, and a confident working grasp of safeguarding, trauma informed practice and attachment theory. Your recording should be clean and accurate, and you will need flexibility for evenings, weekends and sleep ins. Because the home is rural, a full UK driving licence is strongly preferred. An enhanced DBS check applies, with support from the home, and sponsorship is not offered, so you must already hold the right to work in the UK.
