Flamingo Workforce

Can I actually choose my own shifts? It is the first thing most support workers ask us, and in Ashford the answer is yes. You tell us which days, which nights and which kinds of service you want, and we only put forward work that fits around that.

Nights and sleep ins

Plenty of people who register with us want their nights filled first. We can book you on waking nights, where you stay up and on hand right through, or sleep ins, where you rest on site and get up if someone needs you. If days suit you better there is supported living, mental health and learning disability work, complex care, community outreach, domiciliary support and young people’s services. Take a single shift, a block booking or a permanent post.

What you would be doing

The job is helping people live as independently as they can, on their own terms and with their dignity intact. That could mean personal care, a hand with everyday jobs, building someone’s confidence to get involved in things, supporting positive behaviour, giving medication if you are trained for it and writing up clear, confidential notes. Safeguarding runs through all of it.

Before your first booking

We need to see relevant care experience and training, with the Care Certificate where it applies, the right to work in the UK, an enhanced DBS, mandatory training still in date, occupational health clearance for the setting and references covering your recent jobs. No current DBS? We can help you get one. PBS, MAPA or PMVA training, a Level 2 or 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care, a driving licence for community and domiciliary calls and a background with autism or young people all count in your favour.

Money and travel

Pay runs from £13 to £18 an hour and lands every week. Your consultant matches work by postcode and travel time, so whether you live in Ashford itself or come in from Canterbury, Folkestone, Maidstone, Whitstable or Sittingbourne, the shifts you are offered should be ones you can reach without a fight. We look after the DBS, right to work checks and the rest of the paperwork.

Apply through the site and we will pick it up from there. You can read more about our support worker recruitment in Ashford here: https://flamingoworkforce.com/support-worker-recruitment-agency-in-ashford/
