Flamingo Workforce

Not everyone wants to sign up to a full rota, and with ad hoc agency shifts in Stoke-on-Trent you do not have to. Take one shift when it suits, fit the work around study, family or another job, and get paid weekly for what you did. Flamingo Workforce covers the Potteries and the rest of Staffordshire.

Working around other commitments

Ad hoc work is the most flexible way in, but it is not the only one. If your circumstances change and you want something steadier, the same registration lets you move on to block bookings or longer placements without starting again. You choose between days, nights, waking nights and sleep ins whichever route you take.

Where you could be

Bookings are in supported living, residential care, mental health services and community settings. We match by postcode and travel time, so the work fits whether you live in the city itself or come in from Crewe, Stafford, Macclesfield, Telford or Burton upon Trent. A driving licence is useful for community and domiciliary work, though you can work with us without one.

Your responsibilities

Support workers help people stay as independent as they can, with dignity and with choices that are theirs to make. You would provide personal care and practical support, encourage people to take part in everyday life, help with positive behaviour and wellbeing, give medication if your training covers it, keep accurate written records and act to safeguard anyone at risk.

What you need to have

At least six months of UK care experience, plus the Care Certificate where applicable, and the right to work in the UK. An enhanced DBS check on the update service is required, though we can arrange it, as is mandatory training in date for safeguarding, moving and handling and medication where required. We take two references from recent employment. Learning disability, autism, mental health or complex care experience and PBS, MAPA or PMVA training will help.

The rate is £13 to £18 an hour depending on the shift and setting. Apply through the site with your CV, and we will call you within one working day to talk about where you would like to work and get your compliance file started, so you can take your first shift once it is complete.
