Autism and learning disability
If you have supported autistic people or adults with learning disabilities, tell us, because that experience counts. The same goes for mental health and complex care, and for PBS, MAPA or PMVA training. Flamingo Workforce books agency support workers into supported living, residential care, mental health services and community settings across Southampton and Hampshire, so there is room for a range of backgrounds.
A shift in practice
You might be helping with personal care in the morning, sorting practical tasks, encouraging someone to get out and take part in their day, supporting positive behaviour and how they feel, giving medication if you are trained, writing up notes accurately and keeping a watchful eye on safeguarding.
Your hours, your area
Shifts can be days, nights, waking nights or sleep ins, chosen by you. Pay is £13 to £18 an hour depending on the shift and setting, paid weekly, through ad hoc shifts, block bookings or longer placements. Because we match on postcode and travel time, living in Eastleigh, Winchester, Fareham, Gosport or Portsmouth still puts you within reach of suitable work. A licence helps with community bookings but is not required.
Checks we carry out
We ask for six months or more of care experience in the UK with the Care Certificate where applicable, the right to work in the UK, an enhanced DBS on the update service or one we arrange for you, in date mandatory training such as safeguarding, moving and handling and medication where required, and two references for your recent employment.
