Staying longer in one place
Single shifts are fine if that is all you want. If you would like more continuity, ask about block bookings and longer placements, where you return to the same service over a stretch of time. You get to know the people you support properly, they get a familiar face, and your week becomes easier to plan. Both are available in Oxford and around the county.
Commuting in
We match work to your postcode and how long the journey takes, which matters if you are travelling from Didcot, Witney, Bicester or Banbury, or across from Aylesbury. A driving licence opens up more community and domiciliary work, but it is not a condition of joining us.
What support looks like here
You will be helping people live as independently as they can, with dignity and choice at the centre. Some of that is hands on, such as personal care and practical help. Some of it is quieter: encouraging someone to take part in their day, supporting positive behaviour and wellbeing, handling medication where you are trained, keeping careful written records and speaking up about safeguarding.
To be eligible
You should have no less than six months of care experience in the UK and the Care Certificate where it applies, along with the right to work in the UK. We ask for an enhanced DBS check on the update service and will arrange one if needed, up to date mandatory training covering safeguarding, moving and handling and, where relevant, medication, and two contactable references from recent roles. Learning disability, autism, mental health or complex care experience and PBS, MAPA or PMVA training are all useful extras.
Rates are £13 to £18 an hour depending on the shift and setting. Apply online with your CV and we will phone within one working day to agree where you would like to work, then set up your compliance file so you are ready for a first shift once it is complete.
