Nobody goes into support work for the paperwork, so we do it. When you sign up with Flamingo Workforce for agency shifts in Nottingham and across Nottinghamshire, we build your compliance file with you, and if you do not have an enhanced DBS check on the update service yet, we arrange one.
The bit we handle
After you apply through the site with your CV, we call you within one working day. On that call we ask where you want to work and which shifts you prefer, then start pulling together your checks: right to work, DBS, references and training records. As soon as the file is complete you can take your first shift.
The bit you bring
We are after people with six months or more of care experience in the UK and the Care Certificate where it applies. Your mandatory training, including safeguarding, moving and handling and medication where required, needs to be in date, and we will ask for two references covering your recent work. Learning disability, autism, mental health or complex care experience is a bonus, as is PBS, MAPA or PMVA training. A licence helps for community and domiciliary bookings but you can work without one.
The work itself
Shifts are in supported living, residential care, mental health services and community settings. You will support people to live as independently as possible, with dignity and choice: personal care, practical help around the home, encouragement to take part in daily activities, support with behaviour and wellbeing, medication if you are trained, good record keeping and safeguarding.
Where and when
Days, nights, waking nights and sleep ins are all yours to choose from. Pay is £13 to £18 an hour depending on the shift and setting, paid weekly. We offer ad hoc shifts, block bookings and longer placements in Nottingham and the county, and because we match on postcode and travel time, people coming from Mansfield, Newark, Loughborough, Derby or Grantham are matched with work that suits their journey.
