Flamingo Workforce
Devon is a big county, and the distance between a support worker and their next shift can be the thing that makes or breaks a week. That is why everything we offer in Exeter is matched by postcode and by how far you are willing to travel, whether you are based in the city or out towards Torbay, Taunton or Plymouth.
Home visits and outreach
Domiciliary support and community outreach mean seeing people in their own homes and helping them get out and about. A full UK driving licence is a real plus here. If you would prefer to stay in one place, we also place support workers in supported living, mental health and learning disability services, complex care and young people’s services, with waking nights and sleep ins for those who want them.
How you would help
The goal is independence, with dignity and choice for the person you support. Personal care and practical support, encouragement to take part in everyday life, help with behaviour and emotional wellbeing, medication where you are trained, and notes that are accurate and kept confidential. Safeguarding the people in your care is part of every visit.
Checks and training
Please have relevant experience and training in care, the Care Certificate where applicable, the right to work in the UK and an enhanced DBS check. We can help you get the DBS if you need one. Your mandatory training, such as safeguarding and moving and handling, should be in date, and you will need occupational health clearance and contactable references. A Level 2 or 3 Diploma, PBS, MAPA or PMVA training and experience in autism or complex care are all helpful.
Rates and pay day
£13.50 to £18 an hour, paid weekly. Choose ad hoc work, block bookings or a permanent role, and pick the settings that suit you. Your consultant takes care of the compliance, DBS, right to work and paperwork.
