Flamingo Workforce is recruiting support workers for a residential children’s home on the outskirts of Gainsborough, Lincolnshire. This is a permanent hire with the provider, and bank shifts are also available if you want flexible hours.

The role
You will look after children and young people living in the home, building steady, trusting relationships and giving trauma informed care in line with each young person’s care plan. Day to day that means helping with routines such as school, meals, hobbies and activities, supporting emotional and behavioural needs, keeping accurate records and following safeguarding and health and safety procedures. You will work alongside colleagues, social workers and other professionals involved with each young person.
What you will need
- An understanding of safeguarding, trauma informed practice and attachment
- The ability to stay calm and patient when things get difficult
- Availability for evenings, weekends and sleep ins
- The right to work in the UK. The provider cannot offer visa sponsorship for this post
- An enhanced DBS check, which the provider will support you with
Experience with children or young people in residential, education or social care settings is useful but not essential. A full UK driving licence helps, though it is not required.
Pay and hours
13 to 16 per hour. Shifts include evenings, weekends and sleep ins, with bank shifts to suit your availability. The provider offers a company pension, ongoing training, on site parking and a referral scheme.
