Diplomas and specialist training
None of these are essential, but they make a difference to where we can place you. A Level 2 or Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care, positive behaviour support training, MAPA, PMVA or similar, and experience in learning disability, autism, mental health, complex care or young people’s services. A full UK driving licence is also handy. If you want to build your training up, we offer support with specialist courses and the Care Certificate.
The salary
This listing carries a salary of £23,000 to £28,000 per year, paid weekly. It suits someone looking for a permanent position, though block bookings and ad hoc shifts are open to you as well, with waking nights and sleep ins in the mix.
Day to day
Your job is to help people live the way they want, as independently as they can. You might provide personal care, help with practical tasks, encourage someone to get involved in activities, support positive behaviour and wellbeing, and assist with medication where you are trained. You will keep timely, confidential records and safeguard the people in your care.
Getting to work
We supply support workers to care providers, supported living and residential services, mental health teams, local authorities and community settings across the West of England. Roles are matched by postcode and travel time, which is useful if you live in Bath, Weston Super Mare or over the bridge in Newport, Cwmbran or Cardiff.
