Flamingo Workforce
Days, waking nights, sleep ins, a single shift on a Saturday or a block of bookings that runs for weeks. Support workers in Brighton who sign up with us decide which of those they want, and we work out the rest.
Out in the community
Not all support work happens in one building. Community outreach and domiciliary support take you to people in their own homes and out and about, helping them get on with daily life on their own terms. If you hold a full UK driving licence, say so when you apply. We also cover supported living, mental health, learning disability, complex care and young people’s services, plus permanent posts for anyone who wants one.
What a shift involves
You help people be as independent as they can, with dignity and real choice. Some days that is personal care and practical support. Other days it is nudging someone towards an activity they have been nervous about, steadying a difficult moment or keeping on top of medication where you are trained. Notes need to be accurate and confidential, and safeguarding is always part of the job.
Requirements, briefly
You will need relevant care experience and training, including the Care Certificate where it applies, the right to work in the UK and an enhanced DBS check (we can help with that). Your mandatory training should be current, you will need occupational health clearance that fits the setting, and we will contact references from your recent work. PBS, MAPA or PMVA, a Level 2 or Level 3 Diploma and experience with autism or mental health are good to have.
Pay and patch
The rate is £13 to £18 an hour, paid weekly. We match work by postcode and travel time across Sussex, so whether home is Brighton, Worthing, Eastbourne, Haywards Heath, Horsham or Crawley, you get offered places you can reach. Your consultant handles DBS, right to work and compliance.
