Flamingo Workforce
Picture the start of a shift in supported living. You arrive, check the notes from the last person on, and find out how the morning has gone. Then the day belongs to the person you are there for: maybe a bit of personal care, help planning what they want to do, a chat when things feel hard, medication at the right time if you are trained to give it. That is the heart of support work, and it is what we recruit for in Bradford.
Mental health work
If your experience is in mental health, there is room for it here. Supporting someone’s emotional wellbeing, noticing when they are struggling and encouraging them back into everyday life is a large part of the job in those services. We also place support workers in learning disability and autism support, complex care, community outreach, domiciliary work, young people’s services and residential settings.
Salary, contracts and shifts
The listed salary is £23,000 to £28,000 a year, paid weekly. Permanent roles are available, and so are block bookings and ad hoc shifts if you would like to mix things up. Waking nights and sleep ins are part of the picture too.
What we need to see
Relevant experience and training in care, with the Care Certificate where it applies. The right to work in the UK. An enhanced DBS check, which we can help arrange. In date mandatory training covering things like safeguarding, moving and handling and medication where the role needs it, occupational health clearance and contactable references for your recent jobs. A Level 2 or Level 3 Diploma, PBS, MAPA or PMVA training and a full UK driving licence are welcome extras.
From Bradford and beyond
Leeds and Wakefield are close by, and some of the people we work with come over the Pennines from Rochdale, Oldham and Tameside. Because we match on postcode and travel time, you only hear about roles that are reasonable to get to. A consultant who knows West Yorkshire keeps your file in order, including DBS and right to work.
