Learning disability and supported living
Supported living, where you help people with a learning disability or autism run their own homes and their own lives, is one strand of what we cover. If that is where your experience sits, tell us. We also place people into residential services, mental health teams, complex care, community outreach, domiciliary support and young people’s services, so you are not boxed in.
What the role asks of you
You are there to support independence, dignity and choice. In practice that means personal care where needed, practical help, encouraging confidence and involvement, supporting positive behaviour and wellbeing, helping with medication if you are trained, keeping careful confidential records and safeguarding at all times.
Salary and how it is paid
The salary for this listing is £23,000 to £28,000 a year, with pay going out weekly. Permanent positions sit alongside block bookings and one off shifts, and waking nights and sleep ins are available if you want them.
Things to have ready
Relevant care experience and training, the Care Certificate where applicable, the right to work in the UK and an enhanced DBS, which we can help you obtain. Your mandatory training, such as safeguarding and moving and handling, should be in date, and you will need occupational health clearance and references covering recent work. Nice to have: a Level 2 or 3 Diploma, PBS, MAPA or PMVA training, and a driving licence for community roles.
