Flamingo Workforce
This listing suits a support worker in Kent who would rather have something settled than a new rota every Monday. The salary on file is £23,000 to £28,000 a year, and alongside permanent posts we can still offer block bookings if you want to get to know a service before you commit to it.
Who tends to fit
Usually someone who already has care behind them and knows where they are strongest. For some that is learning disability or autism, for others mental health, complex care or young people’s services. We place support workers with care providers, supported living and residential services, mental health teams, local authorities and community settings, so you can stay in the field you know or move sideways into a new one.
The everyday part
You help someone live the life they choose, as independently as possible. Some of that is personal care and practical tasks. Some is quieter work: encouraging a person to take part, backing positive behaviour, keeping an eye on how they are feeling. Where you are trained, you may help with medication. Records have to be accurate and kept private, and safeguarding always comes first.
Checks we carry out
Bring relevant care experience and training, including the Care Certificate where applicable, and the right to work in the UK. You will also need an enhanced DBS, which we can help you obtain, mandatory training in date such as safeguarding and moving and handling, occupational health clearance suited to the setting and references we can contact. A Diploma at Level 2 or 3, specialist training like PBS, MAPA or PMVA and a full UK driving licence are a plus, the licence most of all for community and domiciliary roles.
Getting there
We match by postcode and travel time, so a post reachable from Folkestone, Canterbury, Whitstable, Maidstone or Sittingbourne is as likely as one in Ashford town. Pay goes out weekly. Your consultant gets to know what you want and keeps your compliance in order, from the DBS to right to work.
