Picking the right part of town
We recruit locum and agency social workers for local authority and health and social care teams across Greater London. Each candidate is matched by postcode and the travel time they will accept, so you are not sent across the capital when there is suitable work closer to home. Contracts range from a few weeks to six months or longer, full time or part time.
Service areas
Children and families, adult services, mental health, safeguarding and hospital discharge. If your background includes child protection, court work, adult safeguarding, approved mental health work or discharge planning, it will help us place you well. Experienced senior practitioners and team managers are often in demand.
The day job
You will carry a caseload of your own, carry out assessments and reviews, and write the plans and reports that come out of them. Meetings and hearings are part of the role where required. Working with families, carers and partner agencies is constant, and your records have to meet statutory and legal standards. Supervision and team backing are in place on every placement.
What you need to have
Qualified social workers only, registered with Social Work England and with a minimum of two years post qualifying experience in UK statutory work. We confirm right to work, collect two references on your recent employment, and look for an enhanced DBS on the update service, arranging a new check if you need one. Most community roles still need a driving licence and a car, even in London.
The money, then the CV
