Flamingo Workforce
Approved mental health professionals in Merseyside, this one is worth a look. Mental health is one of the service areas we recruit locum social workers for in Liverpool, and AMHP experience is exactly the kind of background that helps.
Mental health and beyond
Not every post asks for it, of course. We also fill locum and agency roles in children and families, adult services, safeguarding and hospital discharge, for local authority and health and social care teams in the city and out to the Wirral, St Helens, Southport, Warrington and Chester. If child protection, court work or adult safeguarding is more your area, that is equally welcome, and we regularly need senior practitioners and team managers.
On the job
Expect to manage a caseload and to assess, review and plan, putting it all in writing in reports that others will act on. Meetings and hearings come up when cases demand them. You will be in regular contact with people, their families and carers, and with partner agencies. Statutory and legal standards apply to your recording. There is supervision on every placement and a team you can turn to.
Registration and checks
Please hold a social work qualification recognised in the UK, be currently registered with Social Work England and have worked for at least two years post qualifying in a statutory setting here. You must be entitled to work in the UK and able to provide two references about your latest employment. We prefer an enhanced DBS on the update service; if you have not got one, we arrange it. Most community roles need a driving licence and a car.
Time, money and applying
Contracts last from a few weeks to six months or more, on full time or part time hours. The rate sits between £25 and £40 an hour depending on the team and level of post, and pay is weekly. Flamingo Workforce matches people to work near home across all four UK nations. Apply on the site with your CV and we will phone you back within one working day.
