Short cover or a longer stay: in Coventry you choose. Our social work contracts here run from a few weeks to six months and beyond, and if you would rather settle into one team for a decent stretch, we will look for the longer bookings first.
Why some people prefer a long booking
Six months or more gives you time to know a caseload properly, see plans through and build working relationships with the families and agencies involved. Others like the short ones because they keep things moving. Both are on the table, full time or part time, and we will ask which you want rather than assume.
Teams across Coventry and Warwickshire
The work is locum and agency, with local authority teams and health and social care services in the city, Warwickshire and the wider West Midlands. People commute from Leamington Spa, Warwick, Rugby, Nuneaton and Solihull. You might be in children and families, adult services, mental health, safeguarding or hospital discharge. We are also asked regularly for senior practitioners and team managers.
Your responsibilities
Holding cases, completing assessments and reviews, writing plans and reports and joining meetings or hearings as needed. You will be in contact with families, carers and partner agencies throughout, and you will keep records good enough for statutory and legal purposes. Supervision and support from the team are part of every placement.
What you bring
A recognised social work qualification and current registration with Social Work England, with two years or more since qualifying spent in UK statutory practice. Right to work in the UK, two references for your recent employment and an enhanced DBS on the update service complete the list; we can arrange the DBS if needed. Most community jobs require a driving licence and a car.
Pay and applying
