Flamingo Workforce
Payday comes round every week when you work a locum social work contract through us on the north coast. The rate sits between £25 and £40 an hour, set by the team and the level of the post, and you are paid for the hours you work.
Weekly money, flexible length
Contracts in Coleraine and along the north coast run from a few weeks to six months or more, full time or part time. A shorter contract can fill a gap between other commitments, and a longer one gives you a steady income for half a year or so, still paid weekly.
The posts themselves
We work with health and social care teams in children and families, adult services, mental health, safeguarding and hospital discharge. On placement you hold cases, complete assessments and reviews, put together plans and reports, attend meetings and hearings where they are needed, and work with families, carers and partner agencies. Your notes and records must meet statutory and legal standards. Supervision and team support are in place throughout.
Travel on the north coast
We match people by postcode and travel time. Ballymena and Derry are the nearest larger towns from Coleraine, with Antrim, Dungannon and Omagh further away. Most community roles here need a driving licence and access to a car, so tell us how far you are willing to drive.
Checks and registration
We ask for a recognised social work qualification, registration with the Northern Ireland Social Care Council, and at least two years of post qualifying experience in a UK statutory setting. You also need the right to work in the UK and two references covering your recent employment. An Enhanced AccessNI Disclosure is required, and if you do not have one, we will arrange it. Child protection, court work, adult safeguarding, approved mental health work or hospital discharge experience is useful, and senior practitioners and team managers are in regular demand.
Apply with your CV through the site. Someone will call you within one working day, and your first shift follows once your compliance file is complete.
