Flamingo Workforce
Leave the admin to us. When you register with Flamingo Workforce for social work in Cambridge, we build your compliance file, chase your references and, if your enhanced DBS is not already on the update service, arrange a fresh one. Your part is the CV and a phone call.
Why the file matters
No team can take you on until the checks are done, so this is the bit that decides your start date. Once the file is complete you can take your first shift. We will need sight of your social work qualification, your Social Work England registration, proof of the right to work in the UK and two references covering your recent jobs. You also need at least two years post qualifying experience in a UK statutory setting, and for most community roles a full licence and your own car.
The posts on offer
We fill locum and agency contracts with local authority and health and social care teams in Cambridge and around Cambridgeshire. Candidates come from Ely, Huntingdon and Newmarket, and some from over the county line in Bury St Edmunds or Stevenage. Work covers children and families, adults, mental health, safeguarding and hospital discharge. Contracts can be as short as a few weeks or run six months and more, full time or part time.
What the job asks of you
You will be responsible for a caseload: assessments, reviews, care and support plans, written reports, and attendance at meetings and hearings when they arise. You will work with families and carers and with the partner agencies around them, and your case records need to satisfy statutory and legal standards. Supervision is built into every placement, and so is a team to work alongside.
Rate and how to apply
Pay runs from £25 to £40 an hour according to the team and the grade of the post, and it is paid weekly. If you have worked in child protection, court proceedings, adult safeguarding, as an AMHP or in discharge, mention it, and tell us too if you are a senior practitioner or team manager. Apply through the site; expect our call within one working day.
