Adults, safeguarding and discharge
Much of adult social work comes down to assessment, review and planning with the person, their carers and the agencies around them. On a placement through us you hold a caseload, write plans and reports, attend meetings and sometimes hearings, and keep records to statutory and legal standards. Adult safeguarding and hospital discharge experience is particularly useful, as is approved mental health work, although none of them is essential. Every placement includes supervision and team support.

We match social workers to health and social care teams by postcode and travel time. Antrim and Coleraine are close at hand, and Belfast, Lisburn or Craigavon are reachable for anyone happy with a longer commute. Contracts range from a few weeks to six months or more, in full time and part time patterns.
Before you start
You will need a recognised social work qualification, registration with the Northern Ireland Social Care Council, and two years or more of post qualifying practice in a UK statutory setting. Add the right to work in the UK, two contactable references from recent jobs, and an Enhanced AccessNI Disclosure, which we can arrange for you if you are without one. A driving licence and access to a car are needed for most community posts. If your background is child protection or court work instead, we want to hear from you too, and senior practitioners and team managers are regularly requested.
The rate
£25 to £40 an hour depending on the team and the level of post, paid every week.
