Agency nursing does not have to mean a different building every day. Alongside ad hoc shifts and block bookings, we place registered nurses in York and across North Yorkshire on longer placements, for those who would like to settle into one setting and get to know it properly.
The case for staying a while
On a longer placement you learn the routines, the team and the people you care for, and you still keep the weekly pay and flexibility that come with agency work. If that sounds better than starting fresh each shift, tell us. If you would rather keep moving, that is equally on the table.
What and where
Work is spread across hospital wards, care and nursing homes, mental health units and community services. Adult nursing is our biggest area of demand, and mental health and learning disability nurses are asked for on a regular basis. We place you by postcode and travel time, so nurses commuting from Leeds, Wakefield, Bradford, Hull or even Sheffield can be matched to work within reasonable reach.
Clinical expectations
Assess and plan each person’s care, then deliver and evaluate it. Give medication in line with NMC standards, monitor clinical observations and act on them, keep records accurate and work with the wider team.
Money
Pay sits between £25 and £40 an hour, depending on the shift and the setting, and is paid weekly.
Requirements and applying
We need your NMC registration with an active PIN and revalidation in date, at least six months of recent UK nursing experience, and the right to work in the UK. An enhanced DBS on the update service is ideal; otherwise we can arrange one. Mandatory training must be in date, including life support, moving and handling, infection prevention and safeguarding, and you will need occupational health clearance, relevant immunisations and two contactable references.
