Why a block booking
A block means you return to the same setting for a run of shifts. You get to know the team, the people you are caring for and how things run, which makes each shift smoother. If you would rather mix it up, ad hoc shifts are there, and so are longer placements for nurses who want to stay somewhere for a good while.
Settings and specialisms
The shifts are on hospital wards, in care and nursing homes, in mental health units and with community services. Adult nurses are needed most, while mental health and learning disability nurses are regularly requested as well.
Your clinical role
You will assess each person and plan their care, carry it out and evaluate it, administer medication in keeping with NMC standards, monitor observations and act on them, keep records up to date and work closely with the rest of the clinical team.
Rate and location
£25 to £40 an hour, depending on the setting and the shift, paid weekly. We use your postcode and travel time to decide what to offer, so whether you are in Eastleigh, Winchester, Fareham, Gosport or along the coast in Portsmouth, the bookings should be reachable.
Before you are booked
You need an active NMC PIN with revalidation in date, six months or more of recent UK experience, the right to work in the UK, and an enhanced DBS on the update service, though we can arrange a DBS if not. Training in life support, moving and handling, infection prevention and safeguarding must be current, and we also need occupational health clearance, the right immunisations and two references from recent work.
