Flamingo Workforce
The title says registered general nurse, and adult nursing is indeed where most of our Sheffield bookings sit. But mental health units are part of the work here too, alongside hospital wards, care and nursing homes and community services, and we get regular requests for nurses on the mental health and learning disability registers.
Mental health shifts
If you hold a mental health qualification, or you are an adult nurse who is comfortable in that kind of unit, tell us when we speak. You choose the settings you work in, so if a unit is not for you, we will not offer it. The core of the job is the same wherever you are: assess and plan care, deliver and evaluate it, give medication in line with NMC standards, act on what the observations show, keep records properly and work as one of the clinical team.
Getting around South Yorkshire
We book by postcode and travel time. Sheffield is the centre of it, but nurses based in Chesterfield or Mansfield to the south, or up in Wakefield, can be matched to shifts that make sense from where they live.
What it pays
Shifts pay £25 to £40 an hour depending on the setting and the shift, and the money comes through weekly. You can work ad hoc, take a block booking, or go for a longer placement.
What we ask for
An NMC PIN that is active with revalidation in date, six months or more of recent UK nursing experience, and the right to work in the UK. An enhanced DBS on the update service, or we will arrange one. Mandatory training in date for life support, infection prevention, safeguarding and moving and handling. Occupational health clearance with immunisations for the setting, and two references we can contact.
Starting
Apply through the site with your CV. Flamingo Workforce calls within one working day to talk about where you want to work and open your compliance file, and you can take your first shift once it is complete.
