Flamingo Workforce
This suits a registered nurse who wants control of their own diary. Maybe you hold a permanent post and fancy extra hours, maybe you have stepped away from one, or maybe you just prefer choosing where you go each week. Around Reading and Berkshire, that is how agency nursing with us works.
Choice, in practice
You pick the shifts and you pick the settings. Those settings are hospital wards, care and nursing homes, mental health units and community services. We match you on postcode and travel time, which counts for a lot if home is Wokingham, Bracknell or Maidenhead, or a bit further out in Camberley or Basingstoke. Take a single ad hoc shift, commit to a block booking, or settle into a longer placement.
Who gets asked for
Mostly adult nurses on the RGN register. Mental health and learning disability nurses are requested regularly too.
Responsibilities on shift
Assessing, planning, delivering and evaluating each person’s care. Giving medication the way the NMC expects. Monitoring observations and responding to them. Keeping accurate records. Working with whoever else makes up the clinical team that day.
Pay and paperwork
The rate is £25 to £40 an hour depending on the shift and setting, and it lands weekly. To be booked you need an active NMC PIN and current revalidation, six months or more of recent UK experience and the right to work in the UK. We also need an enhanced DBS on the update service, or we can arrange one, mandatory training in date including life support, moving and handling, infection prevention and safeguarding, occupational health clearance with relevant immunisations, and two references covering your recent employment.
Sending your CV
Upload your CV on the site. We phone within one working day, ask where you would like to work and begin your compliance file. Your first shift can go ahead once that is finished. Flamingo Workforce works across England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, but we keep your bookings local.
