Flamingo Workforce
If you live in Great Yarmouth, Lowestoft or out towards Thetford, you already know a shift is only worth taking if the drive makes sense. That is how we book registered nurses across Norfolk and north Suffolk: by your postcode and how long it takes you to get there, not by whatever happens to be open.
Where the shifts are
Bookings come from hospital wards, care and nursing homes, mental health units and community services, in Norwich itself and spread out across the county and over the border. You tell us which of those you want and which you would rather skip. Most requests are for adult nurses on the RGN part of the register, though mental health and learning disability nurses are asked for regularly as well.
The nursing itself
You will be doing the job you trained for. Assessing people, planning and giving their care, then checking whether it worked. You give medication to NMC standards, keep an eye on observations and act when they shift, write proper notes and work with whichever clinical team is on that day.
Money and the shape of the work
Rates run from £25 to £40 an hour depending on the setting and the shift, and you are paid every week. Take one ad hoc shift, a block booking, or a longer placement if you want to stay put for a while. Bury St Edmunds and Kings Lynn are inside our patch too.
Before your first booking
We need to see an active NMC PIN with revalidation in date, at least six months of recent nursing in the UK and the right to work here. You will need an enhanced DBS on the update service, although if you do not have one we can arrange it. Mandatory training should be current, covering life support, moving and handling, infection prevention and safeguarding, along with occupational health clearance, immunisations suited to the setting and two references we can contact about your recent jobs.
Getting started
Send your CV through the site. Someone from Flamingo Workforce will ring you within one working day to ask where you want to work, and we open your compliance file on that call. Once it is complete, you can take your first shift.
