Flamingo Workforce
Here is what to have ready before you apply for agency nursing with us in Newcastle, so your first shift is not held up: your NMC PIN details, your training certificates and the names of two people who can give you a reference.
The full list
NMC registration with an active PIN and revalidation in date. At least six months of recent nursing experience in the UK. The right to work in the UK. An enhanced DBS check on the update service, though if you do not have one we will arrange it. Mandatory training in date, including life support, moving and handling, infection prevention and safeguarding. Occupational health clearance and immunisations in line with the setting. Two references that cover your recent employment.
What happens next
Apply through the site and attach your CV. We aim to call you within one working day, ask where you would like to work and start your compliance file. The moment it is complete, you can take your first shift.
Tyneside, Wearside and up into Northumberland
Shifts cover Newcastle and the wider Tyne and Wear and Northumberland area. Gateshead is just over the river, North Tyneside and South Shields head out towards the coast, and Sunderland is a short way south. We offer work by postcode and travel time, so if you live out in Northumberland we take the distance seriously.
The settings and the nursing
You could be on hospital wards, in care and nursing homes, in mental health units or with community services. Adult nursing (RGN) is the main demand, and mental health and learning disability nurses are requested regularly. On every shift you will assess, plan, deliver and evaluate care, give medication to NMC standards, act on clinical observations, keep accurate records and work with the wider clinical team.
Pay
From £25 to £40 an hour depending on the shift and setting, paid weekly for the hours worked. Ad hoc shifts, block bookings and longer placements are all on offer, and you choose what you take.
