Flamingo Workforce

Four kinds of setting, one register. Agency nurses working with us in Leeds pick up shifts on hospital wards, in care and nursing homes, in mental health units and with community services, and you decide which of those you want to see.

Mental health units are part of the mix

Adult nursing is where most of the requests come from, but we are regularly asked for mental health nurses and learning disability nurses too. If you trained in one of those fields, or you are an RGN who has worked in mental health settings and wants to keep doing so, say so on your application and we will take it into account. The clinical basics carry across every setting: assessing, planning, delivering and evaluating care, giving medication in line with NMC standards, watching observations and acting on them, record keeping and teamwork.

Travelling to work

You do not have to live in Leeds to work there. Wakefield and Bradford are close by, York is out to the east, and Sheffield and Rochdale are within reach for some. Your postcode and travel time decide what we offer, so you are not wading through shifts you would never take.

Rates and patterns

The rate is £25 to £40 an hour depending on the shift and setting. Pay is weekly. You can work ad hoc, take a block booking or go for a longer placement anywhere across West Yorkshire.

Entry requirements

We need NMC registration with an active PIN and revalidation in date, six months or more of recent UK nursing experience and the right to work in the UK. An enhanced DBS on the update service is preferred; we can arrange one if you do not have it. Bring in date mandatory training in life support, moving and handling, infection prevention and safeguarding, occupational health clearance with immunisations appropriate to the setting, and two references for your recent work.

Apply through the site and include your CV. Someone will call you within one working day, and once your compliance file is complete you can take your first shift.
