You could spend one shift on a hospital ward and the next in a nursing home, then pick up community work later in the week. Or you could stick with one kind of setting. Registered nurses working with us in Glasgow and across Greater Glasgow and Lanarkshire choose which way they want it.
Mixing your settings
The bookings we handle cover hospital wards, care and nursing homes, mental health units and community services. Moving between them keeps your skills broad, if you like variety. Settling into one is just as valid. Either works, and you can switch from ad hoc shifts to a block booking or a longer placement if you want more routine.
Same standards everywhere
Whatever the setting, you assess and plan each person’s care, deliver and evaluate it, administer medication according to NMC standards, monitor and act on observations, keep your records accurate and work with the wider team. Adult nursing is the main request, though mental health and learning disability nurses are sought regularly.
Travel and pay
We match by postcode and travel time, so you are offered work within a reasonable journey of home. Edinburgh and Dundee based nurses who are willing to travel can apply too. Pay is £25 to £40 an hour, depending on the shift and the setting, and it is paid weekly.
What you need to have
NMC registration with an active PIN, revalidation in date, six months or more of recent UK nursing and the right to work in the UK. PVG scheme membership, or we will arrange it. Current mandatory training in life support, infection prevention, moving and handling and safeguarding, occupational health clearance, immunisations in line with the setting, and two references who know your recent work.
