Requirements in brief
An active NMC PIN with revalidation in date, the right to work in the UK, and an enhanced DBS check (we can help you get one). Mandatory training should be current, including basic or immediate life support, moving and handling, infection prevention and control and safeguarding adults and children. Occupational health clearance, immunisations to suit the setting and contactable references from your recent jobs complete the list. Specialist skills in theatres, critical care, mental health, paediatrics, IV therapy or venepuncture, and some familiarity with electronic records, are helpful.
What the work involves
Assessing each person, planning their care, delivering it and checking it is working. Giving medication safely to NMC standards. Recording observations and acting on what they show. Keeping notes accurate and confidential, working with the wider clinical team and safeguarding the people in your care.
