Tayside and Fife cover a lot of ground, from the city of Dundee itself to towns on both sides of the Tay. For a registered nurse doing agency work here, how far you travel matters as much as what you do on shift, and that is the first thing we ask about.
Postcode first
We match every nurse to bookings by postcode and travel time. Tell us where you live and how far you will go, and the shifts we put to you will fit. Nurses based further away, in Edinburgh, Aberdeen or Glasgow, are welcome to apply if they are happy to travel.
What you would be doing
The settings are hospital wards, care and nursing homes, mental health units and community services. Adult nursing on the RGN register is the main need, and mental health and learning disability nurses are requested regularly. On any shift you will assess and plan care, deliver and evaluate it, give medicines in line with NMC standards, act on clinical observations, keep good records and work as part of the clinical team.
Weekly pay
You are paid every week for the hours you work, at £25 to £40 an hour depending on the shift and setting. Ad hoc shifts, block bookings and longer placements are all on offer, and the choice of which to take is yours.
Things we will need from you
A current NMC registration with an active PIN and revalidation up to date, six months or more of recent UK nursing experience and the right to work in the UK. PVG scheme membership, which we can arrange if you do not have it. In date mandatory training in safeguarding, infection prevention, moving and handling and life support, occupational health clearance with immunisations in line with the setting, and two references we can contact.
