Flamingo Workforce
Is your DBS already on the update service? If so, getting started as an agency nurse in Derby is quicker, because that check can go straight into your file. If not, we arrange a new enhanced DBS for you, so it is never a reason to hold back.
Paperwork first, shifts after
Before any booking we put together a compliance file. Alongside the DBS it holds your NMC registration with an active PIN and revalidation in date, proof that you have the right to work in the UK, and evidence of six months or more of recent nursing experience here. We will want your mandatory training certificates (life support, moving and handling, infection prevention and safeguarding), your occupational health clearance and immunisation record for the setting, and two references covering your recent posts. As soon as it is all in, you can take your first shift.
Derbyshire and over the border
We book nurses into hospital wards, nursing and care homes, mental health units and community services in Derby and across Derbyshire. You can just as easily be based in Burton Upon Trent, Chesterfield or Mansfield, or over in Nottingham or Loughborough. Work is matched to your postcode and the travel time you are comfortable with.
Who gets booked
Adult RGNs make up most of the demand. We also receive regular requests for mental health nurses and learning disability nurses. Whichever register you are on, the work is the same at heart: assessing, planning, delivering and evaluating care, giving medicines to NMC standards, acting on observations, keeping accurate records and working within the clinical team.
Pay
£25 to £40 an hour depending on the shift and setting, paid weekly for the hours you put in. You pick between ad hoc shifts, block bookings and longer placements.
To apply, send your CV through the site. We ring back within one working day to talk about where you would like to work.
