Flamingo Workforce

£25 to £40 an hour, paid weekly. That is the range for registered nurses taking work with us in Bristol, and where you sit in it depends on the booking you choose.

Out in the community

A lot of nurses come to us wanting to get off the wards for a while. District nursing, community teams and practice nursing are all part of what we cover around Bristol and the West of England, along with care and nursing homes. If home visits and clinics are what you want, tell us at the start and we will steer your offers that way. If you still like ward work, theatres and scrub, ICU or ITU, emergency care and mental health units are there too.

Commuting in

Bristol pulls nurses in from Bath and Weston Super Mare, and from over the Severn in Newport, Cwmbran and Cardiff. We match work to your postcode and travel time, which matters a great deal for community roles where you may be driving between visits as well.

Choosing your pattern

Some people take ad hoc shifts when it suits them. Others want a block booking with one team for continuity, and some want us to find them a permanent post. All three are on offer, and you can change your mind later.

Requirements

We need to see an active NMC PIN with revalidation in date, the right to work in the UK, an enhanced DBS (we can help you get one), current mandatory training including life support, moving and handling, infection prevention and control and safeguarding of adults and children, occupational health clearance with the right immunisations, and references from recent employers. Extra competencies like venepuncture, IV therapy, paediatrics or mental health are useful, especially in the community. The job is the job you trained for: assessing, planning, delivering and evaluating care, giving medicines safely, acting on observations, recording well and safeguarding people.

Once you are registered, a consultant who knows the Bristol area handles the compliance file and can help with revalidation. Apply through the site to start.
