A lot of nursing happens outside hospitals. Our registered nurse bookings in Belfast and across Northern Ireland include care and nursing homes and community services as well as hospital wards and mental health units, and you can steer towards whichever of those you prefer.
Homes and community work
In a care or nursing home you might be the nurse holding the shift together, giving medication to NMC standards, keeping on top of observations and making decisions about each resident’s care. Community services bring a different rhythm. Wherever you are, the job is to assess, plan, deliver and evaluate care, keep accurate records and work with the wider clinical team. If ward shifts suit you better, we book those too.
Who we need
Mainly adult nurses on the RGN register, with regular requests for mental health and learning disability nurses.
Getting there
We match you to work by postcode and travel time, so a nurse living in Lisburn, Antrim, Craigavon, Ballymena or down in Newry is offered shifts that suit the journey, not just whatever is in the city.
Hourly rate
£25 to £40 an hour, depending on shift and setting, paid weekly. Choose ad hoc shifts, block bookings or a longer placement.
The Northern Ireland checks
You need an active NMC PIN with revalidation in date, six months or more of recent nursing in the UK, and the right to work in the UK. For vetting, we need an Enhanced AccessNI Disclosure, and if you do not hold one we can arrange it for you. Your mandatory training (life support, moving and handling, infection prevention, safeguarding) should be current, and we also ask for occupational health clearance, immunisations right for the setting, and two references covering your recent employment.
