Flamingo Workforce
Ask us the rate before you commit to anything, and you will get a straight number. For registrar bookings around Lisburn that number sits between £55 and £70 an hour, it is fixed before you accept, and the money lands weekly.
Talking money early
We would rather a doctor turned down a shift knowing the figure than took one and felt short changed. So the rate is part of the first conversation, along with specialty, site and how many shifts you want. Some registrars want a single shift; others want a contract that rolls on for three months or more.
What you would be covering
Acute and general medicine, emergency medicine, surgery, paediatrics, anaesthetics, psychiatry, and obstetrics and gynaecology are all on our books. The hospitals range from district general to major acute across Northern Ireland, and there is also urgent care, out of hours and some private and community work.
Middle grade responsibility
Below the consultant, the clinical call is yours. You see the acutely unwell, run the take, go over what the juniors have planned and help them learn. The on call bleep comes with the post, though resident on call is only by agreement. Expect specialty procedures inside your competence, regular contact with consultants about escalation and admissions, and a share in morbidity meetings, governance and safety.
Checking you are a fit
We look for ST3 or beyond, or comparable middle grade time, plus a minimum of six months recent work in the NHS or HSC. GMC registration must be full and carry a licence to practise, and you need the right to work in the UK. Hold ALS, with ATLS or APLS if your field expects it, and be at ease leading a team out of hours. College membership or exam progress is a bonus. Your Enhanced AccessNI Disclosure, occupational health, immunisations and references are organised on our side, and we help keep appraisal, revalidation and training current.
Lisburn, Belfast and further
Belfast is right beside Lisburn, with Craigavon, Antrim, Ballymena and Newry also possible for the South Eastern Trust area. Flamingo Workforce recruits doctors at every grade. Apply through the site and ask about rates on the first call.
