Flamingo Workforce
A registrar partway through MRCP, MRCS, MRCEM, FRCA or MRCPsych usually wants work that bends around revision. Locum middle grade shifts around Craigavon can do that: you pick the specialty, the site and how much you take on, from a single shift up to rolling contracts of three months or more.
Exams and the rota
Membership or exam progress is desirable rather than required, so you do not need to have finished to apply. Because you choose your own shifts, you can keep exam weeks clear. We also support appraisal, revalidation and mandatory training, which helps when your diary is already full.
Senior on shift
The responsibilities are the usual middle grade ones. You lead the assessment of acutely unwell patients, run the take and review the decisions of junior colleagues, teaching and supervising as you go. You carry the on call bleep, with resident on call only where you have agreed. Procedures stay within your competence, escalation and admission decisions go to the consultant, and you contribute to governance, morbidity meetings and safety.
Specialties covered
Emergency medicine, general and acute medicine, surgery, paediatrics, obstetrics and gynaecology, anaesthetics and psychiatry, in major acute and district general hospitals across the five Trusts, as well as urgent care, out of hours and private or community services.
Essentials and checks
ST3 or above, or equivalent middle grade experience, at least six months of recent NHS or HSC work, full GMC registration with a licence to practise and the right to work in the UK. ALS is needed, with ATLS or APLS where relevant, and you should be confident leading a team out of hours. We arrange your Enhanced AccessNI Disclosure, occupational health, immunisations and references.
Rate and reaching us
