Flamingo Workforce
Surgical SHOs, this one is aimed at you as much as anyone. Flamingo Workforce books locum doctors at SHO grade in Nottingham and around Nottinghamshire, and surgery sits alongside general medicine, emergency medicine and psychiatry as one of the areas where the demand is steady.
Hands on work
Practical procedures within your competence are a regular part of the job, whether on surgical wards, medical wards, assessment units, emergency departments or mental health units. Around those you clerk admissions and take referrals from the acute take, review and manage inpatients, request investigations and draw up treatment plans. You also support the foundation doctors on shift and take a share of nights and weekends on call. There is registrar and consultant support on every shift, and we expect records that would stand up to clinical and legal scrutiny.
Is it for you
We book ST1, CT1 and CT2 doctors, or those with equivalent experience. Essentials are full GMC registration and a licence to practise, the right to work in the UK, at least six months of recent NHS or HSC hospital experience and core training level experience in a relevant specialty. Life support must be ALS in date, or ILS if you are willing to update. Occupational health clearance and immunisations, two contactable references, an enhanced DBS on the update service and current appraisal and revalidation complete the picture. We arrange the DBS if you need one, help with revalidation and chase the rest of the compliance file ourselves. ATLS or APLS, where it fits your specialty, counts in your favour.
Shifts that fit
Single ad hoc dates, block bookings and contracts of a month or more. Doctors working Nottingham bookings travel in from Loughborough, Derby, Mansfield, Newark and Grantham.
The rate
£45 to £55 an hour, paid weekly. You hear the exact figure before you accept, and it depends on grade, shift and site.
Apply on the site with your CV and GMC number and we will call you the same working day.
