Flamingo Workforce
A GMC number with a licence to practise, the right to work in the UK, and six months of recent hospital experience in the NHS or HSC at core training level or equivalent. If you have those, you can be considered for SHO locum work in Newry, and the rest of the file we can build with you.
Finishing the file
Beyond that starting point we need advanced life support, or immediate life support with a willingness to update, occupational health clearance, immunisations and references, plus an appraisal and revalidation in date. Flamingo Workforce arranges the Enhanced AccessNI Disclosure and supports appraisal, revalidation and mandatory training. Before each booking your background check is confirmed. Extras that help: MRCP Part 1 or MRCEM Primary progress, ATLS or APLS, emergency, acute or psychiatry experience, and use of Encompass.
Newry and the Southern Trust area
Newry sits in the south of the Southern Trust area, with Armagh and Craigavon to the north and Lisburn, Dungannon and Belfast within driving distance. We match each doctor by postcode and travel time. Core trainees and doctors with equivalent experience are both welcome, and demand is constant across general medicine, emergency medicine, surgery and psychiatry.
Shift by shift
Medical and surgical wards, assessment units, emergency departments and mental health units, worked with an appropriate degree of autonomy. Accept referrals and clerk on the acute take, take charge of inpatients and their investigations and treatment, carry out procedures within your competence and supervise foundation colleagues. Registrars and consultants are your route for escalation. On call nights and weekends are part of it.
Rate and range
The rate on file is £45 to £55 an hour, paid weekly, with no timesheets to chase. Bookings go from a single session to block bookings, fixed term contracts and substantive appointments, and we supply doctors from FY1 to Consultant across all five Health and Social Care Trusts. Apply through the site.
