Flamingo Workforce
Background checks, occupational health, references: we chase the lot so your first Coventry booking is not held up by forms. Flamingo Workforce handles the compliance file for SHO locums working in Coventry and across Warwickshire and the West Midlands, and then books you where you actually want to be.
What we take off your plate
If your enhanced DBS is already on the update service, good. If not, we arrange one. We gather your two references, sort out occupational health clearance and immunisation records, and help keep your appraisal and revalidation current. You will still need the core things yourself: full GMC registration with a licence to practise, the right to work in the UK, at least six months of recent NHS or HSC hospital experience, core training level or equivalent experience in a relevant specialty, and ALS in date or ILS with a willingness to update.
The grade and the shifts
SHO level, which for us means ST1, CT1, CT2 or equivalent experience. Demand is steady across general medicine, emergency medicine, surgery and psychiatry, on medical and surgical wards, assessment units, emergency departments and mental health units. On shift you clerk admissions and take referrals from the acute take, review your inpatients, start investigations and treatment plans, carry out procedures you are competent in and support foundation doctors. Registrars and consultants are on hand throughout. Nights and weekends are part of the on call pattern, and records must be good enough to withstand clinical or legal scrutiny.
Rates
Between £45 and £55 an hour, paid weekly. We agree the figure with you before you accept, and it reflects grade, shift and site.
Local ground
Leamington Spa, Warwick, Rugby, Nuneaton and Solihull are all an easy run into Coventry, and plenty of the doctors we work with live in one of them. Ad hoc dates, block bookings and contracts of a month or more are all available.
Apply through the site with your CV and GMC number. Somebody from our team will call you the same working day.
