Across South Wales
Flamingo Workforce is booking SHO grade doctors, ST1, CT1 and CT2 or equivalent, for locum work in Cardiff and the wider South Wales area. Demand is steady across general medicine, emergency medicine, surgery and psychiatry. Doctors living in Barry, Newport, Pontypridd, Cwmbran or Bridgend are all within easy travelling distance of the city.
Ward and department work
Shifts are on medical and surgical wards, assessment units, emergency departments and mental health units. You will clerk admissions and take referrals during the acute take, review and manage inpatients, organise investigations and put treatment plans in place, and perform practical procedures within your competence. You will be on the on call rota, so expect nights and weekends, and your records should satisfy both clinical and legal scrutiny.
What we ask for
Full GMC registration including a licence to practise, the right to work in the UK, at least six months of recent NHS hospital experience and core training level experience or equivalent in a relevant specialty. ALS should be in date, or ILS if you are willing to update. An enhanced DBS on the update service is preferred, and if you do not have one we will arrange it. We also need occupational health clearance, immunisations, two contactable references and an in date appraisal and revalidation, which we can help keep current. Emergency, acute or psychiatric experience, MRCP Part 1 or MRCEM Primary progress and ATLS or APLS where your specialty calls for it are desirable.
Pay and flexibility
£45 to £55 an hour, paid weekly, agreed before you accept, and dependent on grade, shift and site. There are ad hoc shifts, block bookings and contracts of a month or more, and you choose sites, shifts and specialties.
