Flamingo Workforce

How much theatre does a locum ENT registrar actually get? Honestly, it depends on the rota. This Antrim post is first line senior cover for ear, nose and throat, and theatre lists come in where the rota leaves room. The core of it is the on call, emergency referrals and the ward.

What lands on your bleep

Referrals arrive from the emergency department and from the wards. Some are routine; some are airway problems or bleeding that need a calm registrar quickly. You would review inpatients, run the post take round, support clinic and theatre where asked and keep an eye on the junior doctors sharing the rota. A consultant backs you up throughout.

Who fits

Someone at ST3 or above with full GMC registration, a licence to practise and the right to work in the UK. Recent hospital work in the NHS or HSC at this grade is expected. ALS should be current; if you hold ILS and are happy to update, tell us. MRCS or an equivalent, plus earlier ENT registrar experience, will help, but we look at the whole picture.

Checks, sorted

We arrange your Enhanced AccessNI Disclosure, occupational health clearance and two references, and we can give you a hand keeping appraisal and revalidation up to date. That leaves you free to think about the rota rather than the forms.

Rate and commute

Expect £55 to £70 an hour, depending on grade, shift and Trust, agreed before you accept and paid every week. Ballymena and Belfast are close by, and Lisburn, Craigavon and Dungannon are realistic commutes into the Northern Trust area. Flamingo Workforce is booking this ENT cover now.

Getting started

Apply on the site with your CV and GMC number. Expect a call from us on the same working day, when we confirm what dates you can offer and get the compliance side underway.
