Flamingo Workforce
Yes, you need immediate life support to work FY2 locum shifts with us, and advanced life support is a real plus. Those two certificates sit near the top of the list for any foundation doctor around Enniskillen, Fermanagh and the Western Trust area who wants to work with us.
Life support and other essentials
ILS in date is the minimum. If you already hold ALS, or plan to take it, that helps us place you in emergency and acute settings. Alongside that you need full GMC registration with a licence to practise, a completed Foundation Year 1, roughly six months of recent hospital experience in the UK or Ireland and the right to work in the UK. Emergency department or acute medicine time and experience of Encompass or another electronic record are desirable.
Training kept current
We support mandatory training as well as appraisal and revalidation, so your certificates and portfolio do not slip while you are working locum. The Enhanced AccessNI Disclosure, occupational health clearance and immunisations, and references are all arranged by us.
Shifts you could take
Work comes up in emergency departments, acute medical and surgical assessment units, inpatient wards and out of hours, always with senior supervision. You would assess acute presentations, carry the ward bleep, prioritise reviews, perform procedures with increasing independence and escalate a deteriorating patient promptly. Accurate records and safe handovers are part of every shift, as is supporting FY1s and students.
Hours and rate
Days, twilights, nights and weekends, ad hoc or as block bookings and longer contracts, with immediate and short notice starts. The rate is £45 to £55 an hour, confirmed before each booking and paid weekly.
Fermanagh and further
From Enniskillen, Omagh is the nearest option, with Dungannon, Armagh and Derry also possible; we match by postcode and travel time. Flamingo Workforce covers doctor grades from FY1 to consultant across the five Health and Social Care Trusts. Apply through the site to get started.
