Flamingo Workforce
Before you work a single shift, three things need to be in place: an Enhanced AccessNI Disclosure, occupational health clearance with the right immunisations, and references covering your recent jobs. We arrange all three for FY2 doctors in Craigavon, so the wait between applying and working is as short as we can make it.
Help beyond the checks
Appraisal and revalidation do not stop because you are working locum shifts. We support both, and mandatory training too, so nothing lapses while you are busy. Our consultant knows the Northern Ireland rotas and can steer you towards departments that suit you.
Shifts available
Emergency departments, acute medical and surgical assessment units, inpatient wards and out of hours cover, with senior supervision every time. Work ranges from assessing acute presentations and carrying the ward bleep to practical procedures, which you will do with growing independence. A deteriorating patient means escalating without delay. Clear notes and a safe handover finish each shift, and you will often support FY1 doctors and medical students along the way.
Who can apply
You will need full GMC registration with a licence to practise, completion of Foundation Year 1 and around six months of recent hospital experience in the UK or Ireland. Immediate life support is essential; advanced life support is desirable. The right to work in the UK is required. Emergency or acute medicine experience and knowing Encompass or another electronic record are useful extras.
When and how much
Days, twilights, nights or weekends, ad hoc or as a block, or a longer locum contract, with immediate and short notice starts available. £45 to £55 an hour, confirmed before each booking and paid weekly.

Armagh, Lisburn, Dungannon, Newry and Antrim are all reachable from Craigavon, and we match by postcode and travel time. Flamingo Workforce books doctors from FY1 to consultant across the five Health and Social Care Trusts. Apply through the site and we will start your file.
