Flamingo Workforce
Twilights suit some FY2 doctors far better than full nights, and weekends suit others. In Belfast you choose: days, twilights, nights or weekends, in whatever mix works for you, and starts can be immediate or at short notice if you are ready now.
Short notice, sorted
Quick starts only work if the checks are already moving, so we handle them. We arrange the Enhanced AccessNI Disclosure, occupational health clearance and immunisations suited to the setting, and references from your recent employment. We can also support appraisal, revalidation and mandatory training. The sooner your file is complete, the sooner we can put you forward.
Typical shifts
You could be in an emergency department one week and an acute medical or surgical assessment unit the next, or covering inpatient wards and out of hours. Senior supervision is always there. The work is assessing acute presentations, holding the ward bleep, prioritising reviews and doing practical procedures with growing independence. Deteriorating patients get a quick response and early escalation, notes are kept accurate and handovers are safe. FY1 doctors and medical students often turn to you for support.
Entry requirements
Full GMC registration and a licence to practise, completion of Foundation Year 1 and about six months recent hospital experience in the UK or Ireland. ILS is the minimum; ALS is welcome. You need the right to work in the UK. Previous emergency or acute medicine work, and some familiarity with Encompass or another record system, will help.
Rate
£45 to £55 an hour, confirmed before every booking and paid weekly. Ad hoc shifts, block bookings and longer locum contracts are all possible.
Belfast and around
Lisburn and Antrim are close, and doctors based in Craigavon, Ballymena or Newry can work Belfast shifts too; we match by postcode and travel time. Flamingo Workforce covers FY1 to consultant across Northern Ireland. Apply through the site and we will pick it up.
