On that call we ask where you want to work and which shifts you are after, and then we open your compliance file. When the file is complete, you can take your first shift.
How fast is fast
The honest answer is that it depends on you. If your training certificates are in date, your references are easy to reach and you already have an enhanced DBS on the update service, there is very little left for us to do. If something is missing, we help you sort it. We can arrange the DBS, and if you do not yet have the Care Certificate we will support you to complete it.
The list we work through
Six months or more of recent healthcare assistant or care experience in the UK. The right to work in the UK. Two references that cover your recent employment. Current training in basic life support, moving and handling, infection prevention and safeguarding. Occupational health clearance, with the immunisations each setting needs. With those in place, your file is done.
Then the work
Our bookings in South Yorkshire cover hospital wards, nursing homes, residential homes and community services, as well as one to one shifts. You support nurses and care teams with personal care, moving safely, eating and drinking, observations and the records that go with them, all with an eye on keeping people comfortable and safe. Days, nights or weekends: you choose. We match work to your postcode and travel time, so if you live out in Chesterfield or Mansfield, or over towards Wakefield, Stockport or Tameside, we take the drive or the bus ride into account.
Rates
Pay is from £13 to £15 an hour, set by the shift and setting, and paid weekly. Book a single ad hoc shift or go for a block booking or longer placement.
