Nights, days or weekends: you set the pattern for healthcare assistant shifts in Manchester, and we fill it. Some experienced carers would happily work nothing but nights. Others will only do days. Either is fine with us.
If nights are your thing
Night shifts still mean proper care. You help with personal care, support people who are up and about to move safely, offer drinks, keep watch and take observations, and record what happens so the morning team walks into an accurate picture. Keeping people comfortable and safe through the night is the job. You work as part of the nursing and care team, whether that is on a hospital ward, in a nursing or residential home, in community services or on a one to one shift.
Close to where you live
We place healthcare assistants across Greater Manchester by postcode and travel time. After a long night, nobody wants an extra hour getting home, so if you are in Salford, Trafford, Stockport, Tameside or Oldham we look first at what is near you.
The checks
We need six months or more of recent UK experience as a healthcare assistant or in care, plus the right to work in the UK and two references from your recent employment. You should hold the Care Certificate or be willing to finish it, and we will support you. Training in basic life support, moving and handling, infection prevention and safeguarding should be current, and you will need occupational health clearance and the immunisations that the setting requires. If you are on the update service with an enhanced DBS, we can use that. If not, we arrange the check for you.
Rates and booking
Healthcare assistant rates run from £13 to £15 an hour, depending on shift and setting, and you are paid weekly. Pick up the odd ad hoc night or take a block booking or longer placement if you want regular hours.
