One to one, wards and homes
A lot of people come to us wanting one kind of work. One to one shifts, where you stay with a single person for the whole shift, are a good example: quieter, closer, and very much about keeping that person safe and settled. We also book hospital ward shifts, nursing and residential home shifts and work in community services. You can stick to one type or mix them.
Day to day
Whichever setting, you support nurses and care teams. That covers personal care, mobility, eating and drinking, taking and recording observations, and keeping records that are accurate and written up on time. Choose days, nights or weekends, and tell us how far you want to travel. We work from your postcode and travel time, whether you are coming from Southport, Chester or Warrington.
What you bring
Recent UK experience as a healthcare assistant or carer (six months as a minimum), the right to work in the UK and two references from recent employers. You should have the Care Certificate or be happy to complete it, and we will support you with it. Mandatory training needs to be current, which covers basic life support, moving and handling, infection prevention and safeguarding. We also need occupational health clearance and the immunisations the setting calls for. An enhanced DBS on the update service helps; if you do not have one, we arrange it.
What you get back
Between £13 and £15 an hour depending on setting and shift, paid weekly. Ad hoc shifts are there when you want them, and so are block bookings and longer placements. We then open your compliance file, and as soon as it is complete you are ready for your first shift.
