£13 to £15 an hour, paid every week, for healthcare assistant shifts in Leeds and across West Yorkshire. Where you land in that range depends on the shift and the setting you work in.
Why weekly pay matters
Waiting a month for wages is hard when you are picking up extra shifts to cover bills. With us you are paid weekly for the hours you actually worked. Do a couple of shifts one week and a full run the next, and your pay follows what you did.
Where the hours come from
Bookings cover hospital wards, nursing and residential homes and community services. You choose days, nights or weekends, and you can take a single ad hoc shift, a block booking or a longer placement if you want something more settled. Some of our healthcare assistants also go on to permanent positions. We match work to your postcode and travel time, so if you live in Wakefield or Bradford, or further out towards York, we look at what is genuinely reachable for you.
The job itself
You back up nurses and care staff with the everyday care that keeps people well: washing and dressing, helping them move about safely, making sure they eat and drink enough, checking and noting observations. Clear records matter as much as the hands on work. Ward, nursing home and one to one shifts are all on offer.
Who can apply
You need at least six months of recent care or healthcare assistant experience in the UK, the right to work in the UK, and two referees who can speak for your recent employment. The Care Certificate is part of the picture, and if you have not finished it we will help. Mandatory training in basic life support, moving and handling, infection prevention and safeguarding must be up to date, alongside occupational health clearance and the immunisations each setting requires. An enhanced DBS on the update service is best; otherwise we can arrange one.
